Bob and I have always loved receiving letters about our guitars over the years (we still have most of them!) We received this beautiful image of a 1998 electric prototype and two 1992 Limelite models from Chris Davis:
“I took a few shots of your guitars, here’s one you may like. The Limelite on the left is the 18” No. 26692 that you made for Gerhard Burda. It has travelled extensively over the years and I ‘found’ it after enquiring about a Collings that was for sale. It had been tucked away in its flight case for a couple of years but was still pretty much in tune. The Limelite on the right is No. 27192 which you made for Ed Benson; I believe it found its way over the pond via Adrian Ingram. After a thorough clean, polish and tweak the guitar is now back to its wonderful self. The middle one is of course Electric prototype No. 41298 originally bought by Adrian Ingram – now being played by my son Matt.
Come winter time we’re going to try and do a ‘Yorkshire’ version of the Benedetto players – if it happens I’ll send you a picture. Warmest regards and thank you again for bringing such pleasure through your instruments.”
